It is to the Cross that the Christian is challenged to follow his Master: no path of redemption can make a detour around it.

About This Quote

The Christian has no option but to follow his Master. That is the path of redemption. The path of redemption is not one that leads around obstacles, but rather it leads through them; the way of the cross must be taken in order to arrive at glory.(Birendra Bahadur Karmacharya, Chhattisgarh, India) For example, one could say, "It's hard to believe that God can forgive us our sins because we are so wicked! If He really knew the evil things we have done, He would never have sent us to Hell." Or, "How can all those people who have accepted Jesus as their Savior be wrong? They must have misunderstood what the Bible says." Or "How can there be any hope for me? I've done terrible things. Even if I accept Jesus as my Savior now, I will still suffer forever in Hell." The cross is not an obstacle.

It is the way to Glory. It is the way to salvation. It was Christ who offered himself as a sacrifice so that God's plan could be accomplished.

When Christ was nailed to the cross, he experienced death for our sins, so that we could experience life forever with God in Heaven. He died on the cross so that we could live on this Earth forever with him in Heaven. So what are you waiting for? Take up your cross and follow Christ today!
